Knowles, Taylor and Knowles toothbrush holder is part of an ironstone toilet set made in East Liverpool, Ohio, around 1880. This holder is white, blue and gold with a large white calla lily in the middle surrounded by green leaves. Vertical fluting with Romanesque curves at the top of each flute appears above a broad band of blue. There is a back stamp on the bottom of the holder in a cable shape along with the words "IRON STONE CHINA / KNOWLES TAYLOR / AND / KNOWLES."

Knowles, Taylor & Knowles was founded by Isaac Knowles and Isaac Harvey in 1854 in East Liverpool, Ohio. The partners produced Rockingham and yellow queensware. In 1870, Knowles brought son Homer Knowles and son-in-law John Taylor into the firm and produced whiteware, yellowware and ironstone pieces.
